On behalf of the
‘Marshbrook First School Parent
Teacher
Association’ I would like
to welcome you to our page of the website.
We, as a group of parents,
see our role as supportive to the children, the school, and the
community. We have helped finance various projects through a great
team of unpaid volunteers, who have the children's best interests at
heart.
Our major achievements over the last
few years have included;
·
The installation of interactive white
boards in each of the classrooms.
·
A projector and screen for the main
hall.
·
A medical sofa suite, for the
treatment of minor injuries.
·
Various pieces of playground
equipment.
·
Some umbrellas for the garden area.
·
A new stage for the main hall.
·
A mobile cooker and cabinet for the
classroom.
·
Some drying racks in each classroom.
·
Many books for the children.
Over the years we have raised funds
through various social activities, where the local community has
worked with the school, to enjoy an event, whilst simultaneously
helping us obtain vital equipment for the school. Our annual events
calendar usually includes children’s disco’s each term, various
raffles, a stall at the village ‘Victorian Street Fayre’ (Organised by
the Penkridge Business Association), our own Summer Fair, and a stall
at the annual ‘Penkridge Fun Run’ (Organised by Penkridge and District
Round Table).
We have also been proactive in the
area of creative arts by supporting the school band, the drama group
and the dance class; providing instruments and equipment such as the
new music sound system.
Generations have helped this school
obtain the position we find ourselves in today, thanks to their
self-less contributions, giving the most precious of their
commodities, their time. We feel the children of Marshbrook have
greatly benefited from this.
We aim to continue to help represent
and support this excellent group of teachers and staff to help provide
our children with the best start to their school lives. We would also
like to extend our welcome to come and help us in any way you can. We
are all busy parents, and the more help there is the easier it is for
us all.
Mr Elliot Goodbody.
